By far, the best thing about being pregnant is having a craving...going with it...and ahhhhh ecstasy! I bought the juiciest blackberries at our local farmers market this week and wanted to give Blackberry Cobbler a try. I looked for a recipe that I had the ingredients for and found this one from the Pioneer Woman, whose food blog regularly keeps me drooling over my keyboard. It ended up being the BEST cobbler that I've ever had in my life (forgive me Grandma). It came out of the oven with the berries bursting and the juices bubbling and the crust around the edges of the dish tasted exactly like shortbread cookies. My husband and I were in Heaven. Because I'm from TX, I had to add a scoop of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. Sweet Perfection. My husband is sooo happy that I'm out of the 1st trimester funk and am cooking again. He loves me pregnant...it's the one time I cook with abandon. Wish these screens came with a scratch and sniff (or taste) function, because while this picture is drool-worthy, it just does not do the experience justice! Thank God we left some for tonight!
